ONE MORE DAY....

Ok ya'll...tomorrow will be day 7 of our countdown...If everything goes well and he does not misbehave, we will spend the night in the "family room" at the NICU and take our little monkey home on Wednesday!!!!! OH MY GOODNESS!! It's finally here!! Six and a half LONG weeks and we are down to one day! I am scared to death!! I have sooooo much running through my mind and sooooo much I need to get done! It is a bit overwhelming! So what am I doing? BLOGGING!!! It's my stress release! Monkey was circumcised today :( so he is not feeling too good right now, but other than that he is doing great! Meg and Courtney visited today and held him and he just stared up at them! He loves being held by pretty girls...
He is weighing in at a whopping 6lbs. 14 ozs. and I am forcing newborn clothes on him!! Some of his preemie clothes still fit, but I am donating most of them to the NICU so his friends Gage and Caleb can wear them! I was pretty sad today because for the first time in 6 1/2 weeks, Luke was separated from his girlfriend Paisley. We have "pod jumped" with them and have never been apart from the sweet Eddy family till today. Luke got moved to the "window" seat in pod C and Paisley is still in pod A (where we were last night). We started out in C, then jumped to D (our favorite pod), then to A and today we were back at C. I hope I can see Paisley's mom Morgan tomorrow!! Maybe she will be back in C also!! Well, I hope everyone will say a quick prayer tonight for a great report tomorrow! I want Monkey HOME!!

Great news! Let me warn you -- That night in the NICU is so nerve-racking. We were so scared of...I don't know, really -- just scared. Plus, it is sort of the first time you actually feel like parents because the baby isn't hooked up to anything and you get to feed them and change them. Husband and I snapped at each other a few times. My advice is to be calm. Maybe take some calming music or a scriptures in with you to make it through the night. That next morning is so amazing! Good luck!!
